Langford Abattoir
Langford Abattoir, based at the University of Bristol Vet School is the only facility in the UK owned and operated as part of an educational establishment. It not only operates as a teaching environment, educating Veterinary students, professionals of the meat industry and its allied services, but also as a commercial enterprise, servicing smaller private customers and larger retail operations alike, through its own slaughter-cutting plant, and in conjunction with its local business partners.

The facility is audited and certified to a high standard by third-party accreditation bodies, whilst ongoing and active engagement in food safety, quality and welfare research ensures it continues to reflect best practice.
